Dog Field Etiquette: What Every Walker Should Know

Private dog fields run on trust between hosts and customers. Good etiquette keeps that trust intact — and ensures the field stays available for everyone.

Leave It as You Found It

Pick up all dog waste. Take all your litter. Don't leave equipment or personal items behind. A field left clean shows respect for the host and the next customer.

Stick to Your Booking Time

Arrive at your start time and leave by your end time. Other customers may be booked immediately before or after you. If you arrive early, wait outside until your slot begins.

Use the Double Gate Properly

Close the outer gate fully before opening the inner gate. Every single time. The double gate system only works when everyone uses it correctly.

Report Any Issues to the Host

If you notice a fencing issue, broken latch, or hazard — tell the host. A quick message takes seconds and could prevent an incident for the next customer.

Don't Bring Uninvited Guests

Don't bring extra dogs that weren't included in your booking. Check the listing for any rules about additional people. If your plans have changed, contact the host in advance.

Respect the Surrounding Property

Stay within the booked field. Don't let dogs interact with livestock through boundary fencing. Park only in the designated area.

Leave a Genuine Review

If you had a great experience, say so. Hosts depend on reviews to attract bookings, and a genuine review helps future customers make good decisions.
