SnoopPaws operates the booking platform at snooppaws.com. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide when using our platform. Contact us at hello@snooppaws.com for any privacy-related queries.

When you create an account:

• Name and email address
• Password (stored encrypted — we never see it in plain text)
• Account type (Guest or Host)

When you make or receive a booking:

• Booking details (date, time, location, number of dogs)
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe; we never store your card details

When you list a location (Hosts):

• Location name, address, and description
• Photos you upload
• Pricing and availability information
• Stripe Connect account details (managed by Stripe)

Automatically collected:

• Basic usage data (pages visited, actions taken) for improving the platform
• IP address and browser type for security purposes

• To provide the service — processing bookings, sending confirmations, enabling communication between Guests and Hosts
• To process payments — via Stripe Connect; your payment data goes directly to Stripe
• To improve the platform — understanding how people use SnoopPaws helps us make it better
• To send transactional emails — booking confirmations, reminders, and important account notices
• To comply with legal obligations — fraud prevention, resolving disputes

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe has its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy
• Supabase — our database and authentication provider, hosted in the EU
• Vercel — our hosting provider
• Guests and Hosts — when a booking is made, relevant booking details are shared between the Guest and Host (name, booking time, contact details)

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records are kept for 7 years for accounting and legal compliance. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time (subject to legal retention obligations).

If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification — correct any inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Restrict processing — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved

SnoopPaws uses essential cookies only — these are required for the platform to function (authentication sessions, security). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Payment data is handled by Stripe and never touches our servers. However, no internet service is 100% secure — if you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately.

SnoopPaws is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify users of significant changes by email. Continued use of SnoopPaws after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
